About
We’re more than just an outdoor adventure destination – we are a community dedicated to reconnecting people with nature, themselves, and each other. Nestled in the heart of Gloucestershire, our site is a testament to the beauty of the outdoors, with a 47-acre lake and the meandering River Churn surrounded by the natural wonders of a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Our team is the heartbeat of our mission, driven by a passion for the great outdoors and a commitment to providing an unparalleled experience. Licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service (AALS), our staff comprises highly qualified and seasoned instructors specialising in RYA Sailing, Windsurfing, British Canoeing, and Kayak paddling. Their expertise ensures not only a safe and enjoyable adventure but also imparts valuable skills that stay with you long after your visit.
In May 2018, Prospects Services, who have operated the centre since September 2012, decided to sell South Cerney Outdoor to streamline their business operations. The senior team at South Cerney Outdoor were able to secure the funds to acquire and develop the business through Capital For Colleagues, an investment fund specialising in funding employee owned businesses.
We are very lucky to work with a team of experts in an array of activities beyond sailing and paddling, including archery, tunnelling, team building, orienteering, and bushcraft experiences. Whether you’re an individual seeking a personal challenge, part of a school or college group, or representing a corporate organisation, our outdoor team building centre in the Cotswolds guarantees a memorable and transformative experience.
Join us in the embrace of Gloucestershire’s glorious Cotswold countryside, where every adventure is an opportunity to discover, grow, and forge lasting connections. At ROX, we are more than just an adventure – we are your gateway to a world of outdoor possibilities.
The Senior Team

Matt’s the Managing Director at ROX and the sort of person who struggles to sit still for long. If he’s not on the lake, building coffee shops or pirate ships out of shipping containers, coaching touch rugby, chasing dogs through woodland or planning the next big idea, something is probably wrong.
Driven by a love of the outdoors and bringing people together, Matt has helped grow ROX into one of the Cotswolds’ most unique adventure destinations. From watersports and escape rooms to campfires, coffee and corporate chaos, his focus is simple: create experiences people actually remember.
Matt

Mick’s is our Operations Director responsible for our the day-to-day running of the business.
If you don’t tie him down, he’ll be out foil-boarding and road biking and has over 21 years experience in the outdoor and water sports industry as a sailing, paddling, windsurfing, high ropes and SUP instructor.
Mick

Jon is the thrill seeking, adventure hungry Operations Manager member of the team, with 15 years of experience in the industry. Jon is qualified in Paddling, Sailing, Windsurfing, Snorkeling and all of our land based activities and responsible for the training and development of our instructor team and apprentices.
If you miss Jon on the river, you will find him honing his downhill mountain bike skills.

Robyn is our Bookings Coordinator, responsible for arranging all the group bookings for schools, youth groups and corporates.
Robyn begins each day with a wild swim, believing that time spent in nature — especially beside the water — is where people feel most grounded, restored, and fully alive.
For over a decade, she has run events, educational programmes, and nature-based learning experiences, creating immersive spaces that reconnect people with the natural world through curiosity, adventure, and meaningful outdoor experiences.

Paul has been trained and worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants during his 27-year career, and we are blessed to have his skills and experience leading the team in our kitchen. Paul always aims to source our ingredients seasonally and locally where possible, to give you the best of what the local area has to offer. By day, you will find him mentoring our young team of apprentice chefs. When the sun sets, he likes to turn his hand to the finer skills of exceptional fine dining.
