A haven for great food and drink


After a highly successful first couple of years with wonderful feedback, The Lodge is well into it's Phase 2 of development with the inclusion of a high quality Bistro. Our first Apprentice Chef has done so well, that we are now recruiting a second Apprentice Commis Chef to train with our Head Chef. 


Working under a Michelin-trained head chef, you will develop a full set of skills and experience in a range of kitchen functions. From bistro, to large events, to fine dining.

You will be developing a range of skills and experience under the mentorship of our Head Chef and supported by our apprenticeship training company Locomotivation. We are at an exciting phase of our Lodge bistro development where you will gain direct experience preparing street food, buffets, large event catering and fine dining.

    • Prepare attractive menus to nutritional standards
    • Control and order stock and inspect it on delivery
    • Prepare food for cooking
    • Cook and present food creatively
    • Work under pressure so food is served on time
    • Keep to hygiene, health and safety and licensing rules

Develop your own book of recipes and be directly involved with menu development.  

Training in coffee shop barista skills also available.

You will work towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship as a Commis Chef

We guarantee you will only be required to work 36 hours per week as standard. This will be a mix of weekdays and weekends and will include some evenings, generally working 4-5 days out of 7.

Earliest start 8:00am with the occasional late finish 10:00pm. Working days include a 30 minute lunch break

Once you have completed your training, you can expect a salary of £21,358 (£11.41ph) with us and the option to participate in our company share scheme where you get a bonus payout based on the success of the business each year.
