We have a couple of updates for our Self-Launch option and a review of our holiday course capacities today...

LAUNCH

Since opening after lockdown, Launch has proved somewhat problematic with a range of random craft and people abusing the ability to bring along their own kayak or SUP and then sharing it with every man and his dog. It has also resulted in larger that desirable groups gathering in the car park and launch area... We were probably only a week away from them setting up camp with gazebos and BBQs.

As a result we have had to remove the option to self-launch at this time. We do not want to penalise the core of wonderful regulars that take to the water so are in the process of creating a Launch Membership option that should be live in the next day or so. This will permit the holder of the membership to come as often as they would like, once their equipment has been checked out and approved.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates.

COURSE CAPACITIES

Based on updated guidance; clarification of the governments legislation (you should try it, its a great, easy read) and reviewing our risk assessments, we will be increasing our summer course and activity capacity from 5 to 6 (the normal level for most RYA courses).

This change will be to courses from week commencing 3rd August and new places will be available from the end of Tuesday 28th July.

We will still be maintaining all Covid-Safe practices in terms of hygiene and social distancing and not mixing in between course/activity groups.

I hope this is useful... Course places have been in high demand and we want to maximise your opportunity to get on them this summer while staying safe for all.
