How to book
Contact South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre (SCOEC) for dates, prices and availability. On request we will send you a booking form.
Fees
Our price differentials reflect the priority focus of the Youth service for Gloucestershire County Council who core fund us. We purposefully maintain a low cost for young people yet we are also offer a very reasonable cost for adults. All individual courses and group courses with an SCOEC instructor are exempt from VAT.
For group prices & conditions please refer to the centre. Places may only be reserved by submitting the following:

A completed booking form & payment in full at the time of booking for courses £80 or less |

A completed booking form & a non-refundable deposit of 50% of course fee if over £80 |
The balance of payment is due 28 days before the date of commencement. Course places cannot be provisionally reserved.

Cancellation by the client
A cancellation made more than 28 days prior to commencement will be repaid in full.
Notification made less than 28 days before commencement of the course:

In the event that the place(s) are re-sold the client will receive a full refund less £15.00 of the total fee to cover administration costs. |

If the place(s) are not resold the client will be charged the full fees. |

No refunds will be made on place(s) cancelled on the day of commencement or during a course or session. |
All fees are transferable up to 28 days before the date of commencement, provided that a new booking form is completed and that the transferee satisfies the requirements of the course or session. Places that are transferred are not eligible for a refund at a future date. All cancellations and changes to the original booking must be in writing and acknowledged by SCOEC
Cancellation by SCOEC
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that the advertised courses and sessions run, SCOEC will notify clients as soon as possible if there has to be a cancellation due to extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. SCOEC will notify clients of cancellation, at least 5 days prior to the commencement where the numbers of people booked do not reach the required minimum. When a course or session is cancelled by SCOEC, clients will be offered either a full refund or another course or session on different date(s).
We will not cancel a course for lack of wind. If a participant is unable to achieve accreditation as a result we will not give a refund for the course.

Vouchers
Vouchers are to be paid for in full at the time of purchase and are non-refundable. They will expire on 31st October in the year purchased. If a voucher is to be used to book a private lesson, as much advanced notice as possible should be given to give the greatest selection of available dates.
Liabilities
Gloucestershire County Council can only be held liable for damage, loss or injury if it can be shown that an employee, servant or agent has been negligent by act or omission and that this was the cause of the said damage, loss or injury.
Insurance
You are advised to take out additional insurance to cover the risk of accidents, public liability, loss or damage to personal luggage, clothing, effects and cancellation.
Complaints
If you have a complaint it is important that you inform us immediately and we will try and put things right. If your complaint cannot be resolved you should report this to the Manager who will follow up your complaint in accordance with the County Council's complaints procedure.
Health
If you have a medical condition, or are receiving medical treatment that may restrict your participation please consult your doctor and SCOEC before booking.
Swimming
If you need advice about the level of swimming ability please contact us.
Special needs
Please tell us if you have any special needs and how it is that we can adapt our activities to allow your full participation.
Data Protection Information
The information given is collected for the purpose of making a booking to a SCOEC course and may be given to a medical practitioner if the need arises. The information collected may also be used for the wider purpose of providing statistical data used to assist with monitoring provision and/or determining areas of need in order to target future resources. If you have a query or concern regarding this, please contact the Manager.
Conduct
Conduct that is considered to be disruptive, contrary to good order or prejudicial to the interest of safety of SCOEC, shall entitle the Duty Manager to remove a person from the site, without any liability on SCOEC to make a refund. |
