Instructor training

To become an instructor in any of the activities follows a similar path. Before going on a training course other training needs to be undertaken in first aid, powerboating etc. The pre requisites vary for each activity. The assessment will be part of the training course or taken after a period of work experience.

Gap year opportunities

Training as an instructor is worth considering if a Gap year is being taken before starting further education or work. There are employment opportunities with SCOEC, holiday companies in the Mediterranean and further afield. There are opportunities to continue working at SCOEC during college holidays. Working as an instructor will develop a range of skills that will be useful when starting work.

Work experience

Young people from school or college can undertake work experience at SCOEC. Interested students should apply in writing giving the dates of the work experience and details of any relevant experience. An interview will be arranged before the work experience.
